Steve Paine, OMD, L.Ac., received his Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree from the Postgraduate Institute of Oriental Medicine in Hong Kong in 1989, where he immersed himself in both classical Chinese medicine and modern clinical applications. He is licensed to practice acupuncture in Connecticut, Hawaii, and Hong Kong, and is recognized as a Diplomate of the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists (NCCAOM) and the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics. He is also a Certified Disability Evaluator, further expanding his scope of professional expertise.

With over 35 years of experience, Dr. Paine has provided care across diverse clinical settings, including 18 years of practice in Hong Kong during which he treated patients through challenging public health conditions such as SARS and Avian Influenza. His international experience has given him a unique perspective on integrating Eastern and Western approaches to healthcare. In the U.S., he has established a reputation for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care that addresses both physical and emotional well-being.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Paine has played key leadership roles in advancing the profession. He has served as President of the Hawaii Acupuncture Association, is an active member of the U.S.–China Medical Association, and currently leads the National Guild of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (Guild 62). Through these roles, he has worked to strengthen professional standards, advocate for practitioners, and expand public awareness of the benefits of acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
